Retaining Walls

We are proficient in all types of Retaining Walls. When designing and building a retaining wall, there are a variety of factors that must be considered. Location, design, soil and drainage are some of the factors that are applied to the ultimate design of a wall. We work hand in hand with Geotechnical and Structural Engineers to ensure all projects get completed on time and on a budget.

Armour Stone

Armour stone is a natural product that comes in a variety of sizes and colours. Due to the vast weight of natural stone, armour stone walls can be designed to heights that a typical gravity wall system cannot.

Segmental Retaining Wall

SRWs can be used in various applications. They can be designed to conform to any shape while maximizing the sites useable space. With the utlization of geogrid tieback reinforcement SRWs can be built in heights excess of 13.0m. These modular blocks are made of concrete and interlock with each other to avoid overturning and sliding. They also come in a variety of styles and colours to meet your site requirements.

Gravity Walls

Gravity walls can be installed as Armour Stone or SRWs. Gravity Walls utlize there own weight to resist the pressure of the soil behind them, because most modular block systems do not have the shear mass they are not ideal for tall gravity wall systems without the use of reinforcement. However, there are a few companies that have larger blocks that allow for heights upto 6.0m.

Gabion Basket Walls

A gabion wall is a retaining wall made of stacked stone-filled gabions tied together with wire. Gabion walls are usually battered (angled back towards the slope), or stepped back with the slope, rather than stacked vertically. Galvanized steel wire is most common, but PVC-coated and stainless steel wire are also used.
